Amanruya, Turkey

The turquoise Aegean laps Amanruya’s private pebble beach, while ancient pine forests scent the air. Resting amid olive groves and cypress trees on the Bodrum Peninsula’s serene north coast, Amanruya’s guest pavilions are free-standing, with unusually large private pools. Beyond the property lie ancient Greek and Roman ruins including UNESCO-protected Ephesus, Priene, Miletus and Didyma.

Amanruya lies on Turkey’s southeastern coast, on the north side of the Bodrum Peninsula in Mandalya Bay

Located around 15–20 minutes from the town of Bodrum, Amanruya occupies a kilometre of privatempebble beach with breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. Transfer from/to Milas-Bodrum International Airport takes around 30 minutes.

Constructed from local stone and wood, Amanruya’s freestanding Pavilions are alike in design and layout, with a variation between garden and sea views. Sheltered by a terracotta roof, each Pavilion is encircled by shady gardens with pergolas and private 32–36 m2 pools. Inside, the cool white walls and marble floors are offset by Ottoman-inspired touches –dark beams, charcoal braziers and kilim (rugs).

The main restaurant and 3 bars to relax tasting afternoon tea or wine offers a mixed Turkey and European specialities.

Amanzoe, Greece

Aman Sveti Stefan, Montenegro

Aman Sveti Stefan is a story in two parts. One is a beautifully preserved 15th-century fishing village on a fortified islet; the other, on the mainland, is the shore-side former summer home of the Queen Maria of Yugoslavia, Villa Miločer – a rustic retreat and a royal residence connected by an isthmus. Together, these historic properties occupy an 80-acre patch of Montenegro’s wildly beautiful coast, including three idyllic swimming pools and a trio of pink-sand beaches that are among the most beautiful on the Adriatic.

Aman Sveti Stefan lies at the centre of Montenegro’s sun-drenched coastline, southwest of the capital, Podgorica. It’s located 40 minutes by car from Tivat airport; 60 minutes from Podgorica airport; 150 minutes from Dubrovnik airport.

The island of Sveti Stefan houses fifty one rooms, cottages and suites connected by stone steps and cobbled paths. These meticulously restored dwellings feature hand-rendered stucco, stone and local oak, in keeping with the village’s rustic legacy, with views out to sea or over fragrant gardens. On the mainland, the 19th-century Villa Miločer lies on the coastline amid some 800 olive trees, surrounded by ancient forests of pine and cedar. The residence is home to six elegant suites, with two further suites in a separate building.
